Work In Progress: Red Camera Shoot

Last week I had the opportunity to fly out to Aspen, Colorado for a video shoot for work on an upcoming project. I worked closely with Jason Dewey and Anson Fogel from Forge Motion Pictures, who are both amazingly talented photographers and videographers. We filmed the whole shoot on a RED camera setup which was amazing to work with, coming from the world of broadcast and standard definition it is amazing to see the leaps and bounds with which technology has grown in just a few short years. The RED camera took awesome footage and I am looking forward to showing the final product once the project is completed. Stay tuned, for now check out the behind the scenes pictures below.

Rerendered merges with VideoHive

Many of you may not be aware, but JustinMcClure.tv was the driving force behind an after effects project site called Rerendered. One of the first of its kind, the site was dedicated to after effects artists being able to sell some of their creative work via after effects project files. After a very successful run, Rerendered has merged with VideoHive which is a part of the Envato networks of creative marketplaces. You can now find a ton of after effects resources in one place as well as stock footage and many other things to speed up your workflow. Head on over to VideoHive to check it out. Just Launched: Squeezeme.tv

We have just launched a new motion graphics news resource website called SqueezeMe.tv. Justice Revival

Recently we had the opportunity to work on a project that required a lot of ingenuity and creativity on a short turn around. The project was a short promotional spot, primarily for the web, which was created for a revival held in Dallas to help promote an organization called SoJourners which strives to give back to the community by building homes for the homeless and making sure that children get the education that they need.

The inspiration for the piece came from the fact that homeless people live very transparent lives, pretty much open to the public for all to see. So, the spot was created entirely on printed transparencies and then filmed. The first thing that was needed was a make shift light table, which was crafted from what is normally a meeting table. With some simple lights from a hardware store, some tape, a trash bag and some drafting vellum we were ready to roll. The entire spot was shot on a Nikon D5000 which records 1280x720 at 24 fps. A 90mm macro lens was used to create a very nice depth of field and the entire thing was shot in camera. The only post production that was done was a little bit of color correction. Open House A Success

The open house at the studio last Friday went extremely well. There was a steady stream of people totaling between 3-400 guests by the end of the night. There was good food, delicious orange slushies, great friends and wonderful times all around. Posted below are some of the pictures of the event. Come join us during the Final Friday Artwalk in Old Town as we celebrate our new office space by opening our doors, hearts, minds and computer screens to the public. We are located at 151 North Rock Island, Suite 1F, Wichita, KS 67208 (Google Map) and our doors will be open from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

There will be plenty of refreshments, good friends, great times, and a ton of our work will be on display as well.
